- Provide outstanding, empathetic, patient-centric care
- Produce high-quality patient X-ray films by applying knowledge of X-ray developing techniques and related medical procedures
- Calibrations
- Assist patients in and out of examination and/or X-ray rooms in an efficient manner
- Position patients for X-ray procedures on X-ray table by physically lifting and placing patients on the table with co-worker assistance as required
- Maintain, monitor, and order X-ray/medical supplies as needed
- Perform treatment room maintenance after each patient to include:
- Disposing of medical waste as required by OSHA
- Sterilizing instruments
- Cleaning and sanitizing equipment
- Changing table paper and pillowcase
- Schedule routine maintenance for X-ray developer on a regular basis
- Provide copies of X-rays with appropriate documentation to insurance companies and attorneys as requested
- Report equipment malfunctions to Center Admin
- Maintain daily record of completed X-rays and record in appropriate patient charts
- Arrange diagnostic tests with other physicians or radiologists as requested
- Attend all required training seminars and staff meetings as required
- Stock exam rooms and maintain supplies
- Support and perform other routine medical procedures and assist the Back Office team, including:
- Obtaining blood pressure measurements
- Documenting vital signs in EMR
- Vision testing
- MUST BE WILLING TO HELP WITH MA DUTIES WHEN LOW XRAY DEMAND:
- Cross-trained to perform Front and Back Office duties
- Authorizations
- Check in/out
- Greeting patients
- Answering phone calls as needed
- Obtain patient vitals, medical history, and reason for visit, and prepare the patient for a physical exam
- Explain prescribed procedures and treatments to patients
- Ensure all ordered tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with the approved procedure
- Draw blood and prepare labs for reference lab processing and/or in-house processing
- Perform laboratory tests, lab-quality controls, and equipment maintenance according to written instructions
- Respond to all lab messages and call-back requests
- Perform all drug screening procedures in accordance with established rules and regulations
- Ensure patient immunizations are well documented and administered in accordance with the approved procedure
- Conduct physician referrals as well as service pre-certifications on an as-needed basis
- Prepare exam rooms; sterilize instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation
- Be flexible in taking on other duties as assigned by Center Administrator or Physicians
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current licensure by the state of California
- Current registration and certification with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART), or equivalent Radiologic Technology credentialing agency
- Exceptional listening, interpersonal, and empathy skills
